IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT: Unfortunately the snooker exhibition between Neil Robertson and Mark Selby will not go head this year.  My apoligies to all the snooker fans that support our exhibitions but the circumstances relating to this were beyond our control.

About Us

SnookerPlus is a family owned Cornish based company that was established in November 2006. My wife and I run the company on a part time basis as I have a full time job and my wife has a part time jobs. We have both lived in Cornwall all our lives.

My interest in Snooker began when I was given a 2 foot by 1 foot table at 7 years of age. I then progressed to a 5 by 2.5 foot table then at 14 years old played on my first full size table when joining Treviscoe Working Mens Club in 1977. Over the next 25 years I played at Treviscoe, Clinton Social Club (Redruth), Indian Queens and St Dennis Clubs.

I had a very good local league snooker career winning many tournaments and trophies. I also represented the County Youth Team many moons ago and was also a County Under 21 Youth Finalist on 2 occasions, although I never managed to lift the trophy.

I made my first century break at 17 years old, which was a 103 clearance at the St Dennis Working Men's Club. My highest break throughout my snooker career was 138 total clearance.

Then reality kicked in and I realised that money makes the world go around and not playing snooker. My working career started in the motor industry as an apprentice motor vehicle technician in a very successful well known Cornish family owned company. Over the years I progressed through the ranks and my current job is a service manager, working for the same company, in one of their franchise garages.

Snooker then took more of a back seat when I met a young lady (now my wife Carole) in 1983, although I still played snooker, but not as much as before.  In 1987 we married and now have 2 boys, Steven who was born in 1994 and Ryan in 1998. My wife works as part time teaching assistant and a shop assistant in a DIY store. On top of this she has 2 children and a husband to contend with who is obsessed with snooker, which is why she has been a snooker widow for many years.

One of my dreams was to have a full size snooker table in my home and fortunately I was able to do this when we built our home in 1993. At this time I started to become interested in Snooker Coaching. In 1997 I became a qualified snooker coach for the "English Association for Snooker and Billiards" when Terry Griffiths was director of coaching, which prompted me to start coaching in 1998.  It is also important to have the correct tools for the job so SnookerPlus we will be supplying quality snooker cues and accessories to the Cornish snooker community.

I also then took an interest in staging snooker exhibitions. In 2001 I became involved with a snooker associate and over the next couple of years we organised exhibitions with Paul Hunter and Matthew Stevens.

Since February 2004 I have organised snooker exhibitions with Jimmy White, which included professional female referee Michaela Tabb and John Virgo. Whilst involved with these exhibitions I then became associated with a young snooker genius called Judd Trump who turned professional in 2005 when he was 16. Over the last couple of years I have worked closely with his manager and we organised a series of exhibitions in local clubs in Cornwall which were very successful.

In March 2006 Carole and I organised a Charity Snooker Exhibition with Jimmy White in the village of Roche (where we live) and raised over £2500 for the Clay Practice in Roche to purchase new medical equipment.

Unfortunately we very rarely have the opportunity to see professional snooker sports personalities in Cornwall so our aim is bring these highly talented individuals into the County for everyone to enjoy.

Over the past couple of years Carole and I have joined forces to organise snooker exhibitions so based on the success of our partnership we decided to start our own company and SnookerPlus was born in October 2006.

In 2001 myself and a snooker colleague organised a 2 day exhibition with Paul Hunter. I had the privilege of being one of the players and Paul made a 136 total clearance against me.  They were 2 wonderful evenings and no doubt Paul Hunters outstanding talent and personality will never be forgotten.
